I am an Artist and Photographer with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. After many years as a painter, sculptor/installation artist, and over more recent years Photographer, I've recently embraced the addition of ceramics as another craft to add to my expanding genre. I currently work solely in stoneware. The ability to create a functional pice of pottery out of a lump of clay is an incredibly satisfying achievement. Although I enjoy working with clay my intention is to branch out into other mediums (terracotta, porcelains) from time to time. This, I hope, will give me different results with glazing outcomes and add alternative dimensions to the glazing process I mix all my own glazes which I apply to my work from an Artists perspective, in a painterly, abstract, minimal way. I embrace the element of chance that glazing affords as this is a theme that runs through all work I create.
